Asante Kotoko deputy captain Justice Blay has set his sights on clinching the Ghana Premier League title this season, as the team aims to finish at the top of the standings.
The Porcupine Warriors have found their rhythm in the current campaign, winning four consecutive matches and rising to second place in the league with 27 points after 15 games. With a renewed sense of purpose, Blay has pledged to help lead the club to domestic glory.
“We are aiming for the Ghana Premier League title at the end of the season,” Blay stated in an interview with Kotoko media. “Asante Kotoko is a big club, and we can only compete at the continental level if we win the league. We are determined to do our best to achieve that.”
The 27-year-old midfielder, known for his leadership and tenacious style of play, has extended his commitment to Kotoko by signing a one-and-a-half-year deal, reaffirming his dedication to the club’s success.
Blay first joined Kotoko on loan from Medeama SC during the 2019/2020 season, quickly making an impact with two goals in 12 appearances. His consistent performances earned him a permanent transfer in the 2021/2022 season, and he has since become an integral part of the team, featuring in 56 league matches.
So far this season, Blay has played 12 matches in the Ghana Premier League and scored one goal, continuing to demonstrate his value to the team as they aim for silverware.
