Portuguese-American trainer Daniel Gaspar has been appointed as the goalkeeper’s coach of the Ghana senior men national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 70-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having worked closely with Carlos Queiroz since 1992. Over the years, Gaspar has served as a goalkeeping coach, technical adviser and assistant coach across several club and national team assignments
The experienced gaffer becomes the latest member to join Queiroz’s technical team after his long assistant coach Roger De Sa had already joined.
Queries from Ghanaian football fans now are, what will now be the role of former goalkeeper’s coach Fatau Dauda, whom main coach Carlos Queiroz had already stated he will maintain him in his backroom staff.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama, with Gaspar expected to play a vital role in ensuring the Black Stars are well prepared for the challenges ahead.
Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, before taking on England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
