Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has hailed Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as one of Ghana’s most accomplished football coaches, citing his influence on the local game and long-standing contributions to coaching development.
Zito’s comments come after the Porcupine Warriors’ 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in Sunday’s 2025 President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, who was recently appointed on a two-year contract to replace Aboubakar Ouattara as head coach of Hearts of Oak ahead of the upcoming season, was aiming to secure his first piece of silverware with the Phobians.
Zito, who recently took over the Kotoko job after coaching Ghana’s U-20 side and Dreams FC, said Ghanaian football continues to benefit from Dramani’s “discipline, tactical intelligence, and mentorship of young players and coaches.”
“Didi Dramani is one of the best coaches in the country. He is tactically and psychologically sound, and he is someone who reads and understands the game well,” he told Asempa FM.
Dramani, a former head coach of Kotoko, led the club to back-to-back Ghana Premier League titles in 2012 and 2013. He later served in various technical roles with the Ghana Football Association, including stints with the national U-20 and women’s teams.
Both coaches have worked closely in the past under the Ghana FA’s technical programs, and Dramani remains one of the most respected figures in Ghana’s coaching fraternity.
