Bibiani Gold Stars head coach Nana Yaw Amankwah says he is encouraged by the steady improvement within his team after their narrow but deserved 1–0 victory against Karela United at Dun’s Park on Sunday.
The defending champions, who were under pressure to respond following an inconsistent showing this season, produced a composed display in front of their home supporters.
Sanou Razak settled the match with a calm finish in the 38th minute, and from there Goldstars managed the game with discipline as they restricted Karela to half-chances as they chased an equaliser.

Speaking to Goldstars TV, Amankwah praised the players for adapting to the tactical adjustments made in recent weeks.
“The boys are now picking very well, especially with the different strategy we are doing. They are doing very, very well, you could see there is no pressure on the team. All the supporters are happy with what the boys are playing,” he said.
Sundays win has moved Goldstars back into the top four, helping steady their title defence following an inconsistent beginning to the campaign.
However, Amankwah is confident the team is heading in the right direction but stresses they must keep building improving week-in and week-out.
Bibiani Goldstars travel to face Nations FC in their Matchweek 11 clash, another opportunity to solidify their league position if they can replicate the same discipline and firepower upfront.
