Legon Cities have confirmed the appointment of experienced Ghanaian coach Tijani Abdul Rahim as their new head coach, following the dismissal of Yaw Acheampong.
The Accra-based club is battling to survive relegation in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season, and they are banking on the former Young Apostles, Great Olympics, and Hearts of Oak trainer to steer them to safety.
Abdul Rahim brings a wealth of domestic experience and a reputation for stabilizing struggling sides. His immediate task will be to lift the morale of the squad and guide them through the final rounds of the campaign in a bid to retain their top-flight status.
Legon Cities parted ways with Yaw Acheampong following a string of poor results that left the club hovering just above the relegation zone.
Legon Cities last win in the GPL in the 2024-2025 campaign with the exception of forfeited win over the defunct Nsoatreman FC was recorded on March 16 via a 2-1 win over Berekum Chelsea.
The club has since gone a seven game winless run that includes losses to Accra Lions, Basake Holy Stars, Karela United and Samartex.
Legon Cities have 25 points and are four points off 16th ranked Karela United in the standings.
