Bibiani Gold Stars head coach Frimpong Manso expressed deep pride and emotion after guiding the Bibiani-based club to their first-ever Ghana Premier League title, calling the moment “a dream come true” for the town and its people.
Speaking moments after the club sealed the historic championship, Manso was visibly emotional and said, “You can see everybody is very happy. The whole town is happy and so I am overwhelmed.”
Gold Stars defied the odds this season with a consistent and determined run, culminating in a dominant final-day performance against Accra Lions that confirmed their place at the summit of Ghanaian football.
The Miners victory sent shockwaves across the country, marking one of the most remarkable underdog triumphs in recent league history.
Frimpong Manso, a former Ghana international and respected tactician, has earned widespread praise for building a resilient squad that combined youth and experience to overcome more fancied opponents like Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and Medeama SC.
“For me, the joy of the town makes me so happy,” Manso added.
The title win not only cements Gold Stars place among Ghana’s elite clubs but also guarantees them a spot in next season’s CAF Champions League, where they’ll represent the country on the continental stage for the first time.
