Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara has expressed his reservations about adopting Asante Kotoko's strategy of releasing a large number of players, citing the need for a more measured approach to rebuilding the team.

In an interview with SportsObama TV, Ouattara questioned the effectiveness of Kotoko's mass exodus, which saw them release 21 players and plan to bring in 14 new additions.

"You are sacking 100 and bringing in 200, what is the results?" he asked. "Let us go slowly. When you go slowly, you have 100% chance to achieve something. Sacking 11, 22, 100 players, we bring in 100 and we start again, you are [wasting] money."

Ouattara's comments come as Hearts of Oak look to rebuild following a disappointing season that saw them narrowly avoid relegation. The team is reportedly interested in signing former Kotoko midfielder Enoch Morrison and Bechem United forward Augustine Okrah, but Ouattara's remarks suggest that he will be taking a more gradual approach to strengthening the squad.

While Kotoko's mass exodus has been hailed as a bold move by some, Ouattara believes that it is a short-sighted strategy that prioritizes quantity over quality.
