Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko are seeking for their demands and proposals made to the GFA to be met as soon as possible or they will boycott the league.
This is on the back of the measures they expect the Ghana FA to put in place after the painful death of their staunch supporter 'Nana Pooley' weeks ago in their match-day 19 fixture against Nsoatreman FC in Nsoatre.
The Porcupine Warriors want security measures to be enhanced at match centers, fair share of TV rights, autonomous league to be introduced and others.
The GFA since have charged certain individuals involved and have also engaged all clubs to discuss how to curb hooliganism and also know the way forward of the league.
As part of their attempts to right all wrongs, the GFA met with Interim Management Committee of Kotoko today in Kumasi and Chairman Nana Apinkra made very clear to them that they are not playing the league until the demands they made in joint-statement together with their eternal rivals Hearts of Oak are met.
He added they are very much aware of how the county's highest football governing body has taken them for granted for long but he concluded by vowing they will respect them from henceforth.
“As for the GFA, we already know you take us for granted, but from now on, whether you like it or not, you will respect us. Kotoko and Hearts cannot be ignored. All we are asking for are better security measures,” Nana Apinkra stated.
“Even today, if you respond to our proposals, we will play. But until then, count us out because we cannot sit back and watch another life lost,” he added.
The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season is still on break and it is gradually looking unlikely for the season to resume.
