The 23-year-old wideman of Nigerian descent has sealed his switch to the Swedish top-tier outfit from their fellow elite division rivals ahead of the start of the new football season
Norway-born Nigerian winger Obilor Denzel Okeke has completed his transfer move to Allsvenskan side IF Brommapojkarna from Hammarby lF on a three-year contract, the club have announced.
The promising former Fredrikstad FK youngster is linking up with the Grimsta lP Stadium campaigners following their long-term pursuit for his signature in the Swedish top-flight.
An official statement confirming the capturing of the Nigerian-prospect winger reads: ''The 23-year-old Norwegian winger joins from Hammarby and has signed a contract that extends through 2029.''
Right after sealing his move, the flanksman has told his club's official website: ''What attracted me was their project and their belief in me. I have spoken to many players and they have said that BP is a good club that is good at developing players. So I think that as a footballer I will take a step forward in this club.
''I got a good impression. I know Simon Strand from my time at Hammarby and talked to him a bit. He has only said good things. I am looking forward to getting started and think it can be good. I describe myself as a fast footballer with good technique. I work hard for the team and contribute with goals. I expect to win, I am a player who loves to win. I will do everything for my team to get three points. Like I said, I think it can be good this year.''
Sporting director Sean Sabetkar added: ''We have been looking for the right profile to strengthen this position, and in Obi we feel we have found the right fit. He comes in with a good combination of age, personality and edge that fits what we want to build, both here and now and over time. In addition, our assessment is that he can quickly become part of the team and contribute. I look forward to seeing him in the red and black jersey.''
Given his Nigerian heritage, the Oslo-born youth star remains eligible to switch nationality allegiance by playing for the Nigerian national football team at the senior level despite playing for the Norway U19 & U21 national youth teams.
