Young Pharaohs head coach, Osama Nabih is convinced that his players are well psyched for victory over Ghana in Monday's quarter-final match.
The Egyptians will face the Black Satellites on Monday, May 12, at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, with kick off at 15:00 GMT.
Host nation Egypt won 1-0 over South Africa in the opening match of the tournament, before going ahead to lose 4-1 in the second match against Sierra Leone, the Young Pharaohs needed a win to secure qualification to the semi finals stage.
In their third game, Egypt managed a 0-0 draw against Zambia. The Young Pharaohs stunned Tanzania 1-0 in their final group match and sit third of Group A with seven points while Ghana also has seven points, bossing top spot of Group C.
Nonetheless Coach Nabih says that though the match is a decisive one, Egyptians fans should stand behind them, the Young Pharaohs are confident and poised for victory on Monday.
“Yes, Ghana is strong. Yes, they’ve had more rest. But we are Egypt. My players are fully aware of the challenge and are ready to defend our dream," he said in his pre-match interview, as quoted by CAFOnline.
“We ask the fans to stand behind us in this national mission."
