Ghana's national team, the Black Stars, is in pursuit of their tenth consecutive appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations as they gear up for a crucial qualifier against the Central African Republic.
Having not missed the tournament since Tunisia 2004, the four-time African champions have come close to clinching the title twice in the last two decades.
They reached the final in 2010 and 2015, narrowly losing to Egypt and Ivory Coast, respectively.
Nevertheless, the West African giants face the risk of missing out on the 2023 tournament in Ivory Coast if they fail to secure a positive result against the Central African Republic on Thursday in Kumasi.
A single point will suffice for the Black Stars to secure their place in AFCON 2023.
The players are determined to bounce back after the disappointment of AFCON 2021, where the team was eliminated during the group stage.
They have been diligently preparing since Monday and are already in Kumasi for this pivotal encounter.
Unfortunately, key players like Arsenal's Thomas Partey, Joseph Paintsil of KRC Genk, and Daniel Amartey are all sidelined due to injuries.
