Kwesi Appiah, the former coach of the Black Stars, has received approval from the Ghana Football Association's vetting committee in anticipation of the upcoming election.
The former Ghanaian international has successfully cleared the vetting process as he competes for a spot on the Executive Council representing Premier League clubs.
Appiah is currently the frontrunner for the position, especially after the disqualification of Alhaji Braimah Akambi from Hearts of Oak.
Scheduled for September 27 in Tamale, the election will usher in a new GFA administration.
Kwesi Appiah, who previously played for Asante Kotoko, has held various roles in football since retiring as a player, including coaching the national team on two occasions. He also had a coaching stint with Al Merreick in Sudan before taking the helm at the Kenpong Academy in Ghana.
Meanwhile, it appears that Kurt Okraku may run unopposed for the FA President position, as George Afriyie has been disqualified from the race.
