A senior delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has arrived in Kampala, Uganda, for key meetings with the three co-hosts of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations - Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The two-day planning sessions, taking place from 22 to 23 April, are aimed at reviewing progress so far and setting clear targets for the next phase of preparations.

CAF said the meetings will bring together major stakeholders to examine important areas such as stadium construction, transport systems, security plans and overall tournament operations.

The 2027 AFCON hosting rights were awarded to the joint bid known as PAMOJA, involving the three East African nations.

That decision marked a historic moment, as the tournament will return to the region for the first time in decades.

During the visit, CAF officials are expected to hold both joint and separate meetings with representatives from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to track timelines and ensure all projects meet continental and international standards.

The Kampala meetings are seen as an important step on the road to 2027, as the three nations continue working to deliver a successful tournament for African football.
