Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shared insights into Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey's dedication to maintaining peak physical condition.
Since joining the Premier League club from Athletic Club in 2020, Partey has faced challenges with fitness throughout the season. However, his performance has markedly improved this season, contributing significantly to the team's success across competitions.
Ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming match against Southampton, Arteta emphasized Partey's crucial role within the squad, noting that the midfielder is currently in excellent shape.
“He’s a massive player for us and he’s shown that week in, week out. He’s started the season really well, really fit. The way he came back post-holiday was probably in the best condition that he’s been, which was really helpful as well. Now he needs to continue to do that,” Arteta stated.
The coach also highlighted Partey’s own commitment to his fitness. “We have managed certain minutes with him in the right way and the team is doing that, and then he’s doing everything he can as well to be in the best physical condition,” Arteta added.
