Ghanaian winger Bernard Somuah continued his scintillating form in the Spanish Primera Federación as Celta Vigo II secured a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid Castilla on Saturday.
The Asante Kotoko loanee was the match-winner, scoring the decisive goal in the 8th minute. Somuah expertly controlled a pass from the left before curling the ball past the Castilla goalkeeper, giving Celta Vigo II the lead and helping the team finish the year on a high.
Real Madrid Castilla threatened twice before halftime, but goalkeeper Coke Carrillo remained resolute between the posts. After the break, a penalty for Castilla was initially awarded but subsequently overturned by VAR, denying the visitors an equalizer.
Somuah played 46 minutes before being replaced by Álvaro Marín in the second half. This goal marked his fourth of the season in 14 appearances, highlighting a highly productive campaign for the 22-year-old winger.
Celta Vigo also hold an option to make the Ghanaian forward’s move permanent at the end of the season, and Somuah’s consistent performances are certainly strengthening his case for a long-term stay in Spain.
