Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola appears to be bracing for life without Antoine Semenyo, with the Ghanaian forward increasingly linked to a high-profile move ahead of the January transfer window.

The Black Stars attacker has attracted strong interest following an impressive run of form this season, emerging as one of Bournemouth’s most influential players in the Premier League campaign.

Semenyo, 25, continued his fine scoring touch on Saturday, netting his eighth goal of the season to help the Cherries secure a 1-1 draw against Burnley at the Vitality Stadium. His performance once again underlined his growing reputation and value.

With the transfer window set to open in a matter of days, reports indicate that Semenyo has a £65 million release clause in his contract, a figure that has put several top clubs on alert. Manchester City and Liverpool are understood to be monitoring the situation closely and could be prepared to meet the valuation.

Despite the mounting speculation, Iraola was full of praise for the forward, acknowledging his importance to the team while stopping short of offering any assurances about his future.

“He is a massive player for us,” Iraola told BBC Sport after the Burnley draw. “It is not a big secret.”

The Bournemouth boss, however, expressed frustration at his side’s inability to claim all three points against a struggling Burnley team.

“We felt we were creating the best chances but we didn’t kill the game,” Iraola said.
“We are conceding too many goals from set plays and it is punishing us. We deserved to win.”

As speculation continues to swirl, Bournemouth may soon be forced into difficult decisions regarding their prized Ghanaian forward.
