The ever-green youngster has confirmed approach from the four-time African conquerors in an effort to secure his allegiance to play for their national team ahead of next year's global showpiece

Danish-born Ghanaian midfielder Noah Nartey has revealed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has contacted him over nationality switch as they ready themselves for the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament to be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Following qualification to the mundial, reports are now rife in the west African nation that the country's football governing body has started approaching players of diaspora, with Watford youngster Pierre Dwomoh, Chelsea prospects Josh Acheampong, AZ Alkmaar shot-stopper Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro, Como winger Jayden Addai, RC Lens defender Samson Baidoo and Union Berlin forward llyas Ansah all believed to be on the wish list of manager Otto Addo in a bid to integrate them into his current squad for the quadrennial tournament.

However, with Nartey being considered as one of the promising prospects of players in the diaspora by the Ghana FA, the 20-year-old midfielder has ruled out the possibility of representing the Black Stars on the international stage as he pledges to play for the European nation after featuring for their national youth teams.

The sensation midfielder, currently on the books of Danish Superliga side Brøndby IF, is quoted as saying by TIPSBLADET: ''Of course there is something with Ghana, and there has also been contact. But what I am focused on is playing for Denmark and qualifying for a very important and great European Championship.'' He added: ''It is Denmark that I have represented my entire life, and it is them that I will continue to represent.''
