Ghanaian attacker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu marked his Shimizu S-Pulse debut with a goal on Saturday morning as the table toppers' Shimizu S-Pulse won 4-0 against Thespa Gunma.
Yakubu, who joined the Japanese club from Rio Ave scored his goal in the 75th minute after Carlinhos, Zento Uno and Teruki Hara had ployed Shimizu to a 3-0 lead.
The 25-year-old scored the fourth goal, in what turned out to be the masterstroke on his debut as the 'S-Pa' rail-back to the top of the table in Japan's J2 League with a victory.
However, Thespa Gunma struggled to cause any real problems for Shimizu defence and Yakubu's goal proved enough for the hosts to take the points.
