The former Leicester City U18 star, who was subjected to racial slur last year, has now revealed the massive support he received from fellow footballers, with the England superstar leading the pack in sharing their grief with him over that acerbic incident

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Gyamfi has disclosed that England and Real Madrid ace Jude Bellingham was among the leading world class players to offered him the unwavering support when he was racially abused during K Beerschot VA clash with SK Beveren in the Belgian Challenger League in December 2025.

The 24-year-old right-back said he was immensely hurt when a racist language was directed at him by a yet to be known man from the stands after calling him a ''monkey''.

Speaking in an interview, Gyamfi opened up for the first time the kind of an overwhelming support he had from friends when dealing with that traumatic occurrence at that time.

He told ESPN: ''I heard something, shouting. I was looking at a man. He did something that hurt me very much, and still hurts. He called me a monkey.

''lt was very clear when it happened. It's like what happened to Vinicius Junior, that too has to stop. I couldn't concentrate anymore, I couldn't control the ball anymore. I didn't know what was happening in the match anymore.

''I'd never experienced anything like it before; it was new to me. My family saw it too and called me after the match. I got a message from Harvey Barnes, who plays for Newcastle and whom I knew from England. Also from Demarai Gray, who plays for Birmingham. The most famous player who contacted him, however, was a very big name: Jude Bellingham.

"I have a lot of friends in European football, we stay in touch, and in situations like this, we always support each other. It makes me happy that I'm not alone.''

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Leiderdorp-born defender still remains eligible to represent Ghana senior national football team on the international stage.
