The Dutch-born of Ghanaian descent has made a return to the Eredivisie to feature for Reds until the end of the 2023/24 season's campaign.
Dutch Eredivisie giants FC Twente have announced the loan signing of Myron Boadu from AS Monaco on the transfer deadline day.
The 23-year-old has joined the De Grolsch Veste Stadion outfit on a a loan deal until June 2024 due to limited playing time at AS Monaco.
Boadu has been struggling to be a regular starter at the French Ligue 1 side and has manage to score only one goal in ten appearances for Monaco across all competitions in this season's campaign.
The club's official statement reads “Myron Boadu will play on loan for FC Twente until the end of this season. The 23-year-old striker is rented from AS Monaco. Boadu will join the selection of trainer Joseph Oosting from tomorrow”
He has been tagged as a flop in the French Ligue 1 since joining AS Monaco from AZ Alkmaar for a fee around the region of €17 million during the 2021 summer transfer window.
AS Monaco decided to sell him last summer but the club had no suitors for his acquisition and has forced the French side to loan him out to FC Twente until the end of the season.
“I was really looking forward to being back in the Netherlands,” Myron Boadu told the club's official website after sealing the move.
“I am happy that I now have the opportunity at a nice big club like FC Twente. FC Twente has a lot of quality in the team and hopefully great matches await us in the near future. We want to secure European football.”
“I already know some of the guys from the selection, I'm really looking forward to working with them”
Boadu was born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam which makes him eligible to represent the West African nation in future despite making his debut for the Netherlands in 2019.
He will be wearing jersey no.21 at FC Twente.
