The German-born of Ghanaian descent is set to join the Deutsche Bank Park outfit on permanent basis after a successful two season loan spells.
Eintracht Frankfurt have reached an agreement with Broussia Dortmund for the acquisition of Ansgar Knauff permanently ahead of the 2023/24 season's campaign.
Following his exploits in the last two seasons, Frankfurt have now opted to make the move permanent and will pay around €4m-€5m plus bonuses for the 21-year-old.
The German U21 international is expected to sign a long-term contract with Frankfurt with the move officially being announced in the coming days.
Knauff was used mainly as a wingback under Oliver Glasner either on the left or on the right. Last season, Knauff played a key role in Frankfurt’s run to winning the Europa League scoring in the semi-final against West Ham.
He has made 52 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt in the last two season, scoring four times and providing five assists.
Knauff, who was born to a Ghanaian father and German mother, remains eligible to represent Ghana at the senior despite playing for Germany at the U19, U20 and U20 teams.
