Ghanaian attacking midfielder Kwame Poku played a key role in Peterborough United’s commanding 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic in Round 38 of the English League One season.
The 23-year-old started the match at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday and lasted 54 minutes before being substituted. Poku provided the assist for Peterborough’s opener in the 38th minute, setting up Sam Hughes to break the deadlock.
The hosts doubled their lead before halftime through Abraham Odoh, before Malik Mothersille sealed the victory in the 79th minute.
Poku has been in outstanding form this season, contributing 10 goals and 6 assists in 20 League One appearances.
Across all competitions, he has been involved in 19 goals, scoring 10 and assisting 9 in 23 matches.
Despite the win, Peterborough United sit 15th in the League One standings with 45 points from 37 games, making promotion to the Championship highly unlikely.
