Former Black Stars midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi has conceded that he regrets not accepting an opportunity to play for Denmark.
The 33-year-old in an interview with Kumasi-based radio station Pure FM revealed that he received an offer from the Danish football federation to represent the European nation at the senior level during his days at FC Nordsjaelland.
However, Adu Kofi declined the offer from the Danish to play for the Black Stars of Ghana where made only one appearance — against South Africa in an international friendly — in 2016 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
"When I was playing for FC Nordsjaelland, Denmark spoke to me about switching nationality to play for them but I declined because I was at my peak and I was hoping to earn a call-up to play for the Black Stars," Adu Kofi told Pure FM in an interview
When the former Malmo FF enforcer was questioned if he regrets the decision of declining the invitation from the Danish, he said "Yeah. Sometimes when it comes to mind, I feel sad because I was hoping to play for Black Stars which did not happen so I sometimes regret it."
Adu Kofi was surprisingly excluded from Ghana's final squad list for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after making the provisional squad released by Avram Grant following his explosive performances at Malmo FF during the 2014/15 season.
He previously featured for FC Nordsjaelland, Club Brugge, Stabeak, Malmo FF, Akhisar Belediyespor, AIK and Mjallby.
Adu Kofi currently plies his trade with Finnish club Ekenäs IF and played an instrumental role in their top-flight league promotion after 90 years in the just ended season.
