Ghanaian midfielder Shakur Mohammed has completed a move to Major League Soccer side Nashville SC, joining the club ahead of the 2026 MLS season.

The 22-year-old has signed a contract that runs through the 2026 campaign, with options for the 2027 and 2027/28 seasons, underlining Nashville’s long-term belief in his potential.

Nashville SC acquired Mohammed through the Right of First Refusal (ROFR) mechanism from Orlando City SC, with the Florida-based club also set to receive Nashville’s natural third-round pick in the 2027 MLS SuperDraft as part of the agreement.

Confirming the signing, Nashville SC President of Soccer Operations and General Manager Mike Jacobs praised the midfielder’s development and upside.

“Shak is a talented attacking player who has been a bright prospect in college and in MLS NEXT Pro, and we are excited to see him continue to grow into his potential with us here in Nashville,” Jacobs said.

Mohammed arrives in Nashville after an impressive spell with Orlando City’s MLS NEXT Pro side, where he recorded 28 goals and six assists in 79 appearances, establishing himself as one of the most productive attacking midfielders in the competition.

At senior level, he also made five first-team appearances for Orlando City, having joined the club as the second overall pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft.

Born in Ghana, Mohammed moved to the United States in 2018 from the Right to Dream Academy and has since featured for Black Rock FC, Blue Devils, and Manhattan, steadily rising through the American soccer ranks.

His move to Nashville SC now presents a fresh opportunity to push for greater first-team involvement as he continues his development in Major League Soccer.
