The defender of Ghanaian root has had his current deal with the Dutch top-flight outfit annulled following his conviction over an alleged assault case against his partner last month.
Dutch Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles have reportedly terminated the contract of Ghanaian defender Jamal Amofa after being convicted with 100 hours community work services of which 40 hours were to be served on condition for a probationary period of two years by a court in The Netherlands last year.
The 26-year-old was accused of manhandling his partner inside his vehicle following an altercation between the two of them on the night of August 26, 2024.
Given the aforementioned acerbic episode between both partners, the former ADO Den Haag guardsman was found guilty over his unethical behaviour and handed his prosecution terms by the court.
Nonetheless, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf has claimed that Jamal Amofa has had his contract abrogated and has been asked to look elsewhere for the rest of the season as his current deal was to be due in 2027.
It now remains to be seen if fellow top division side SC Heerenveen will reignite their interest in the services of the former AZ Alkmaar youth product this January after seeing their advances over his pursuit rejected in the summer.
Given his Ghanaian root, the Amsterdam-born defender still remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage.
