The defender of Ghanaian parentage was reported to have penned a deal with the Chinese top-tier outfit, but the 29-year-old has now distanced himself from the said reportage as he focuses on completing the current campaign with his side this term
Ghanaian-born Togolese defender Kennedy Boateng has rebuffed claims that suggested that he had signed a pre-contract agreement with Chinese Super League side Shandong Taishan.
Multiple reports from the Romanian media indicated that the former LASK centre-back, currently on the books of Romanaian Liga l side Dinamo București, had already inked terms with his current suitors and would be linking up with them at the end of the season as his running contract with the Arena Națională campaigners is set to expire on June 30, 2026.
However, in reacting over the transfer speculation, the lanky defender has told a press conference ahead of their game against FC Argeș in the Romanian Liga l on Sunday: ''I saw a lot of news that I had signed with Shandong in China. To be honest, I haven't spoken to anyone. I had offers, but Dinamo rejected them. I haven't signed any contract with Shandong.
I think a lot of people are obsessed with information about me and a possible transfer. But that shouldn't be the main focus. My main goal is to be available every week and play for Dinamo.''
He continued: ''I haven't signed any contract and I'm still at Dinamo. I'm a professional footballer and I want to focus on the present. Fans should be calm because I haven't spoken to any team in China.''
Boateng has so far featured in 30 games for Dinamo across all contests in this ongoing 2025-26 football season.
He remains unfit to play for Ghana on the international stage having been cap-tied 14 times by the Togo senior national team over his international football career so far.
