Fit-again Thomas Teye Partey started a game for Arsenal for the first time in seven months and played a vital role in helping them steal a precious 2-0 home win over Luton Town to maintain their top-spot on the Premier League log.
The 29-year-old was sidelined for a very long time due to injury which saw him miss the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which was held early this year in Cote D'Ivoire.
Partey, recovered fully just recently and marked his return against champions Manchester City over the weekend with a cameo appearance.
However, he had his first start in a very long time last night after making Mikel Arteta's starting line up against Luton where he lasted 67 minutes on the pitch before making way for English international Declan Rice.
Despite his return, there has been a wide range of speculations that the Black Stars deputy skipper will leave the Londoners at the end of the season and has already been linked to Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan and there are other links also from Saudi Arabia.
But, the versatile midfielder feels different and is very elated for his injury return as he hopes to stay fully fit and has stated clearly he has no intention of leaving the Gunners anytime soon.
“I know a lot of speculations have been going on, but for me, I'm really happy to be here."
“I’m happy to continue playing for this club, I like Arsenal.”
Thomas Partey has spent almost four years with Arsenal having joined in the summer of 2020 from Atlético Madrid for a fee of £45million
