Kwasi Sibo says he is ready to embrace the fight for a regular role at Real Oviedo as he looks to keep his international ambitions alive with Ghana.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who was handed a starting berth in Ghana’s recent 2026 World Cup qualifier against Mali in Accra, regards the selection as both a demanding task and an affirmation of trust from coach Otto Addo
“Getting a starting role in such a crucial match means the coach has confidence in me, but I have to work even harder to fight for a place in the team,” Sibo said.
A former Ghana U23 international, Sibo knows the margins are slim when it comes to catching the eye of the Black Stars’ technical staff.
However, for him, club consistency and enough game minutes are non-negotiable if he’s to win a recall to the Black Stars.
“If I don’t get regular playing time at Oviedo, I’ll not catch the eye of the coach. So my focus is to keep working hard, for my club and for Ghana,” he added.
Sibo is determined to nail down his place in Spain’s La Liga this season and prove he can still be part of Ghana’s future plans.
