Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has praised the growing competition for attacking roles within his squad, highlighting the battle between Mohammed Kudus and Brennan Johnson for a regular starting position on the wings.
Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s UEFA Champions League clash against AS Monaco, Frank noted that both players offer different but equally valuable qualities to his side. Kudus has been his preferred option on the right flank, while Johnson’s work rate and adaptability continue to push for selection.
“Brennan has been doing very well in training and scoring goals, which is always good,” Frank told reporters. “There’s strong competition for places, but Mo Kudus’ consistency and impact on the right wing give us a tactical edge.”
Kudus, who joined Spurs from West Ham United during the summer transfer window, has quickly established himself as a key figure in the team’s attacking setup. His speed, creativity, and ability to penetrate tight defences have made him a constant threat in the final third.
Johnson, meanwhile, offers valuable flexibility by operating effectively on either flank — a quality Frank believes will be crucial as Tottenham balance a packed schedule across domestic and European competitions.
The Ghanaian international has recorded four assists and one goal in 10 appearances so far this season, underlining his growing influence under Frank’s management.
