The 26-year-old has completed his transfer loan switch to the German second division side in this current winter transfer window

Ghanaian attacking midfielder  Moritz-Broni Kwarteng has sealed his loan move to German 2. Bundesliga side Fortuna Düsseldorf from Bundesliga outfit VfL Bochum, the club have confirmed.

The former Hamburger SV attacker is linking up with the Merkur Spiel-Arena outfit after passing his mandatory medical  examinations on Saturday (January 11).

Announcing the loan deal with the 26-year-old, the  Fortunen have said their contractual obligations with the Ghanaian midfielder will be due on June 30, 2025 and have the option to secure his services on a permanent deal at the end of the campaign.

''Fortuna Düsseldorf will now strengthen its offensive line with Moritz-Broni Kwarteng. The 26-year-old will be loaned from Bundesliga club VfL Bochum for six months until June 30, 2025. A purchase option has been agreed,'' a statement over the loan deal read.

Right after putting pen to paper on the deal, the Black Stars prospect had this to say to his new side via the club's official website: ''The people in charge at Fortuna have been trying to get me for a long time and I know Daniel Thioune from my time at HSV. I think I can settle in quickly and I want to help the team to be successful. My hope is that the team will be enriched by my style of football and that we will inspire the spectators in the arena.''

Sporting director Christian Weber added: ''With Momo we're getting a goal-scoring offensive player who feels most comfortable in the center, but can play all offensive positions. With his dynamism and quality, he will give us new options in the final third and won't need a long period of adjustment.''

Before sealing his loan switch, he featured in 7 league games for VfL Bochum in this ongoing Bundesliga 2024-25 football season.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the German-born attacker still remains eligible to switch allegiance and represent Ghana on the international stage.
