Ghanaian youngster, Prince Adu Kwabena is enjoying a great season with Czech Republic topflight side Viktoria Plzen and has now set sights on getting a Black Stars call-up in future.
The 21-year-old had the spotlight on him during his time with Bechem United when he was just 16 becoming the youngest player to play in the Ghana Premier League then.
His quality was captured by English top tabloid the Guardian who included him to their top 60 young footballers in the world in 2020 following his outstanding performance for the Hunters.
However, his progression was dealt with a huge blow after suffering a heartbreaking meniscus injury which took out for almost two years in what was a very devastating period for the youngster.
He finally returned and signed for Ukrainian side Kryvbas Kryvhyi Rih on a four-year deal but could spend only a season there with his instant impact and subsequently joined Czech Republican giants Viktoria Plzen where he is currently turning heads in the ongoing season.
Speaking with Flashscore, Adu Kwabena, who has 10 goals and 2 assists in all competitions, narrated how he couldn't honour his first Black Stars call-up and added he is working tirelessly to secure another going forward.
"In 2020 I was called to the Black Stars and joined the camp as a late call-up. Later, I had to leave the camp because the coach explained to me the player I was called to replace had decided to honor the call-up. I was told to go back and when there’s another slot they will call,” he explained.
"In that moment I was still proud of this achievement because I was still selected out of so many players to represent the country. It was good for me and in future if I am to get another call-up I will be there. I am working hard for that."
Prince Adu Kwabena was part of the Black Satellites squad for the 2021 AFCON but was left out because of injury.
