The former Ajax attacking midfielder wants the Ghanaian striker sold to the English outfit given the amount that has been tabled for his services this winter
Ex-Dutch international Rafael van der Vaart has said he would ''immediately'' sanction the sale of Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Brian Brobbey to English Premier League side West Ham United, with 35 million euros already rejected by the Dutch giants over the services of their star forward.
The former RB Leipzig striker, who is also a transfer target for fellow English top-tier side Tottenham Hotspurs, has seen a move away from the Johan Cruyff Arena campaigners mooted for the past days after courting great interest from the Hammers in this January transfer window.
It's understood that the London club have seen the above-mentioned figures knocked back by the Eredivisie heavyweights over the signature of their youth graduate.
That notwithstanding, the former Dutch international feels the amount tabled for the 22-year-old is huge enough for his transfer deal and would have cash in on him if he were to be in charge of affairs at the Amsterdam-based club.
''I believe in this guy so much, but somehow it just doesn't work out,'' the 41-year-old retired footballer told Studio Voetbal on NOS programme. He continued: "What's the reason for that? I don't know, because I'm just not interested. But if someone pays that amount (35 million euros, ed.) and he can go to West Ham, then I would let him go immediately. But I'll tell you: if he goes there, it will be a sensation. Believe me, one hundred percent.''
Brobbey has so far netted 3 goals and assisted 7 in 29 games across all competitions for Ajax this campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, he remains unfit to play for Ghana on the international stage as he has been cap-tied by The Netherlands national team.
