Reports from an East Anglian daily suggest that Greek side PAOK is facing a tough challenge in holding onto Ghanaian international Baba Rahman, with interest brewing from newly promoted side Ipswich Town and Brentford.
The left-back, once of Chelsea fame, has been a standout performer for PAOK, featuring in 42 matches across all competitions and establishing himself as one of the top-scoring defenders in the Greek League.
During the season, Brentford dispatched scouts to closely observe the 29-year-old during PAOK's Europa Conference League clash against Dinamo Zagreb, as they seek reinforcements following a demanding campaign marred by Rico Henry's knee injury.
Although PAOK's journey in the Conference League ended at the quarter-final stage, Rahman remains statistically the most impressive left-back in the competition, amassing 671 minutes of play, contributing a goal and an assist. Additionally, he crafted five goal-scoring opportunities for the Greek club in the tournament.
Currently earning approximately €1 million annually on his three-year contract, Rahman could potentially double his wages with a return to the Premier League, where he previously featured in 14 games for Chelsea before injuries derailed his progress.
Opting to concentrate on his club commitments this season, Rahman has showcased a resurgence in form, complemented by stellar displays both domestically and in European competitions.
PAOK finds themselves in second place in the league standings with an outside shot at the title. They are banking on a potential league triumph to persuade one of their star performers to extend his stay beyond the summer.
