The Black Stars assistant coach has sent out an important message as Ghana hope to bring their World Cup qualifying campaign to a superb conclusion.
Ghana's men’s national team assistant trainer John Paintsil is looking forward to seeing the team being set into a frantic mood as the Black Stars play two World Cup qualifying games on Friday and Monday.
The four-time African champions are back in action this week as they resume their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with games against Chad and Madagascar.
Ghana face Chad on Friday at Accra Sports Stadium before travelling to Morocco to take on the Barea at the Mimoun Al Arsi Stadium in AI Hoceima, Morocco next Monday.
The two games are important to the Black Stars hopes of playing in next year's World Cup as anything other than six points could affect their qualification chances.
In an interview with Happy Sports, Painstil called on Ghanaians to troop the stadium and offer an unflinching support as they come out to hunt for victory against the Les Sao of Chad.
“Where we have reached, we need the support of Ghanaians now more than ever, especially in our first home game against Chad. They should come to the Accra Sports Stadium and support us,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars are currently lying second in Group I with nine points garnered from three wins, and one defeat.
Comoros are leading the group, also on nine points, Madagascar are third on seven points, while Chad are sixth with zero points.
