The Black Princesses of Ghana played to a goalless draw against Mexico's U20 women's national team in an international friendly match, as both sides gear up for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
The match, held at the Centro Deportivo Choquenza in Bogotá, Colombia, was part of the final preparations for both teams ahead of the tournament, which kicks off later this year.
Ghana's U20 team, known as the Black Princesses, started the game slowly but gained momentum as the match progressed. Both teams created several scoring opportunities but failed to convert, resulting in a 0-0 stalemate by the final whistle.
This friendly match was crucial for Black Princesses' head coach, Yussif Basigi, as it provided an opportunity to assess and fine-tune his squad before the World Cup. The team aims to make a significant impact in the tournament, where they have been drawn in Group E alongside Austria, Japan, and New Zealand.
Mexico, who are in Group A with host Colombia, Cameroon, and Australia, also used the match to sharpen their tactics and strategies ahead of the competition.
The Black Princesses will continue their preparations as they look forward to making a strong showing on the world stage.
