The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the Black Stars will begin training on Wednesday, November 12, as preparations get underway for their international friendlies against Japan and South Korea in the 2025 Kirin Cup.
Ghana will face Japan on Friday, November 14, before taking on South Korea four days later as part of their build-up to next year’s FIFA World Cup.
Head coach Otto Addo has named an exciting squad for the trip, though the team will be without several key figures, including captain Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Alexander Djiku, Ernest Nuamah, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.
In their absence, Addo has opted to hand first-time call-ups to three players; Prince Kwabena Adu, Kelvin Nkrumah, and Prince Osei Owusu, as he continues to assess new talents.
Adu, a striker with FC Zlin in the Czech Republic and a former Bechem United player, has earned his first senior call-up after a string of impressive performances in Europe. Medeama SC winger Kelvin Nkrumah also makes the cut, while CF Montreal forward Prince Osei Owusu, who was previously in the books of Toronto FC, joins the squad to strengthen Ghana’s attack.
Reports indicate that players began arriving in camp on Tuesday, with the full squad expected to assemble on Wednesday for the first training session under Otto Addo’s supervision.
The friendlies form part of the Black Stars’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
