English gaffer Steve McClaren has emerged as the latest name linked to the vacant Black Stars coaching role, with talks now underway with the Ghana Football Association.

Speculations indicate that initial contact was made by McClaren himself through his representatives, as the Englishman looks to return to management after leaving his post as head coach of Jamaica national team just recently.

His exit followed their failure to secure direct qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a goalless draw with Curaçao.

McClaren, who previously served as assistant coach at Manchester United, is now among a growing list of candidates being considered to replace Otto Addo.

The GFA is actively exploring options as it seeks a suitable candidate to lead Ghana into the World Cup, with a preference reportedly leaning towards a short-term appointment.

Other experienced names remain in contention, including Slaven Bilić, who is said to be in discussions over financial terms, Carlos Queiroz and Tom Saintfiet.

With time running out, the race for the Black Stars job continues to intensify as the GFA works towards making a decisive appointment.
