The Ghana Football Association per reports in the media, are monitoring Mauritania national team head coach Amir Abdou and are willing to hand him the Black Stars vacant coaching role.

The Ghana senior men national team are currently without a coach following the dissolution of the previous technical team led by English-Irish gaffer Chris Hughton in what is described as poor performance at the 2023 AFCON.

The Ghana FA are already on the lookout for a new head coach and have already set up a committee to supervise that task.

However, speculations earlier this morning are that, the GFA have turned their attention to Amir Abdou and have added him to their list hoping to get him on board as soon as possible and are willing to hijack his salary by giving him $45,000 every month.

Also, fresh reports are that, Amir Abdou's current contract with the Murabituns will end in March this year and the Mauritania FA have already offered him $35,000 monthly salary to extend.

The 51-year-old gaffer got the spotlight after leading Comoros to their first ever Africa Cup of Nations knockout in 2021, having beaten Ghana 3-2 in their final group game to fulfill that task.

In the ongoing 2023 AFCON, the French-born tactician did the unthinkable once more after guiding Mauritania to their first ever knockout stage- beating 2019 champions Algeria to that but have been evicted from the tourney at the moment.
