Faisal Chibsah, a FIFA High-Performance Specialist has acknowledged the difficulties confronting the Black Stars, insisting it is beyond the technical team.

His comments come after Ghana was unable to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the very first time in 20 years.

Ghana secured just three points from their six matches in Group F, which included Angola, Sudan, and Niger in the qualifiers.

Echoing the frustrations of many fans, they believe a change in leadership, especially sacking coach Otto Addo will be necessary to halt the Black Stars decline.

Reminiscing on the senior national team's catastrophe AFCON tourneys in Cameroon and Ivory Coast, Chibsah implied that the root of the issue lies deeper than just coaching.

“A team with no desire, a team with no commitment, not adaptable and they played with no purpose,” he told Sporty FM.

“They were just passing and playing, and it looked like they were forced to be at the tournament.

“I have followed them, but I think the problem is just bigger than technical,” he added.

With the World Cup qualifiers on the horizon and set to resume in March, the Black Stars are second in Group I with nine points - Ghana will take on Chad and Madagascar.
