Federation International Football Association (FIFA) have imposed a fine of $5800 on Ghana following the invasion of pitch in their game against Madagascar last month.
The Black Stars nipped on a late header from Inaki Williams to record a narrow 1-0 win over the Barea in the opening fixture of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Due to what happened after the goal with some fans getting into the inner perimeter to join the celebration, FIFA have ordered Ghana to pay an amount of $5800 as punishment so it won't happen again in future and to also serve as deterrent to others.
The four-time African champions currently sit on the third position in the qualifiers with three points after a win and a defeat in their opening two matches.
After the precious win over Madagascar in the opening game, Ghana lost painfully to Comoros and will face Mali in June 2024 in the next round of matches in Bamako.
Meanwhile, coach Chris Hughton after bringing his provisional squad, is expected to announce his final 26-man list for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations slated for early next year in Cote D'Ivoire.
