The Ghana Football Association have denied reports suggesting the departure of Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle.
Recent speculation indicated that the Swiss tactician rejected a two-year contract extension due to indifferences concerning insufficient preparations, which includes lack of friendlies and other vital activities to make sure the team produces a favourable outcome in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
However, these reports have been debunked by a member of the GFA Communications Team, Sheikh Tophic Sienu,
“The GFA has a contract with Nora, and it is still valid. The contract will end next year [2025]. Personally, I have not had any interaction with Nora to confirm these claims. A post she made on LinkedIn suggests she is unhappy with preparations,” Tophic Sienu clarified in an interview with Max FM.
“The FA pays her salary, provides accommodation, and travel allowances, and funds her scouting trips. We needed $40,000 to play friendly matches against Tunisia and Senegal, but the FA did not have the financial resources. Every fund from FIFA is allocated for specific purposes, and at that time, there was no available cash,” he explained.
