Ghanaian business mogul, politician and owner of Elmina Sharks, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom has demanded for major reforms at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the wake of the devastating occurrences at Nsoatre on Sunday, 2nd February 2025.
Violent clashes erupted and ruined the Ghana Premier League Matchday 19 fixture between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko at the Nana Koromansah II Park.
The incident resulted in the tragic death of a Kotoko supporter, Francis Frimpong, affectionately known as Nana Pooley.
While work has started and the GFA has promised the public of its commitment to probing deep-dive investigation and taking action against the perpetrators, Nduom thinks these actions are not enough and has requested for a substantial overhaul of the nation's football administrative structure.
“The GFA needs a serious overhaul,” he punched in a Facebook post.
In light of what happened, the GFA has put on hold the Ghana Premier League matchday-20 fixtures for the weekend and set up a meeting to deliberate on the issue with the various league clubs on Thursday, February 6.
Meanwhile, a segmented meeting with the leadership of supporters is scheduled for Friday.
