The Ghana Football Association is set to name a new Black Stars head coach within the next one to two weeks, according to FA president Kurt Okraku, as the search for Otto Addo’s successor gathers pace.

Speaking to 3Sports after Addo’s dismissal, Okraku stressed the urgency of the situation, with Ghana stepping up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“We will have a new coach in a week or two,” he revealed, signalling a swift move to stabilise the team ahead of crucial assignments.

Addo was relieved of his duties following a string of disappointing results, including defeats to Austria and Germany, with the decision finalised after a late-night meeting in Stuttgart.

The FA has since begun assessing both local and foreign candidates, with several names already linked to the role as efforts intensify to rebuild confidence within the squad.

Ghana face a tight schedule, with upcoming friendlies against Mexico and Wales in May, leaving limited time for the incoming coach to evaluate players and implement tactical ideas before the World Cup.

The Black Stars have been drawn in a competitive group featuring England, Croatia, and Panama, making the timely appointment of a new coach even more critical to Ghana’s chances on the global stage.
