The Ghana Football Association says it will appoint a new Black Stars head coach within the next one to two weeks, according to its president Kurt Okraku.

Speaking after the dismissal of Otto Addo, Okraku said the FA is moving quickly to find a replacement as Ghana step up preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

“We will have a new coach in a week or two,” he told 3Sports, signalling urgency in the search for a successor.

Addo was relieved of his duties following a run of disappointing results, including defeats to Austria and Germany. The decision was taken after a late-night meeting in Stuttgart.

The FA has since begun assessing both local and foreign candidates, with several names already linked to the role as Ghana aim to bring stability back to the team ahead of important international fixtures.

The Black Stars are due to face Mexico and Wales in May, leaving limited time for the incoming coach to evaluate the squad and introduce new ideas before the World Cup.

Ghana have been drawn in a difficult group alongside Panama, Croatia and England, increasing the importance of a quick and decisive appointment.
