Ghana Football Association President Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku, has reflected on his journey so far since assuming the role and strongly feels he's done enough to help lift the Ghanaian game higher and is still eager to do more in his remaining years.

Kurt, 52, was voted the new boss to lead Ghana football in 2019 and is currently serving his second tenure having been re-elected in October 2023.

Speaking on Asempa FM in Accra, Kurt believes they haven't really been disappointing since giving the mandate and are really pushing to make sure they have taken the Ghanaian game to the highest level.

“The Ghanaian game was on the low before 2019. Fast forward 2019, 2020 and now I think that we've made big inroads bringing all our competitions back, bringing the desire and the passion of the people back.

“All our national teams are now competitive. We've gone ahead to also introduce more youth competitions, more youth national teams. If you remember we were back at the World Cup in Qatar after we lost out in 2018.

“Our Black Queens, the female national team, are back in AFCON after being away for a while. Our youth national teams are also on the rise again. All our domestic competitions back on track and timely. So the outlook looks very good.”

Since assuming the big seat, the former broadcast journalist has organised and supervised four successful football seasons with the fifth to commence next month.

Also, the senior national team, Black Stars made a return to the FIFA World Cup in 2022 having missed out on the previous edition in 2018 but haven't reached the quarter final of the Africa Cup of Nations since 2019 and suffered group stage eliminations in the 2021 and 2023 editions.

The senior women national team- Black Queens have returned to the Women's AFCON since 2018 whiles the U-20 have also clinched three titles under his tenure.

Juvenile football has also improved tremendously with competitive leagues organised for these youngsters nationwide including regional and national competitions for exposure.

Kurt Okraku was present at the grand finally of the fourth edition of KGL Foundation U-17 tourney last Thursday in Prampram with Western Region emerging winners of the second inter-regional championship
