Ghana's head coach, Chris Hughton, expressed his profound disappointment following the Black Stars' resounding 4-0 loss to the United States in an international friendly.
The four-time African champions conceded all four goals within a mere 39 minutes at Geodis Park in Nashville on Wednesday morning.
After an impressive five-game unbeaten streak with the national team, the former Brighton and Hove Albion boss now grapples with consecutive losses to Mexico and the US.
During the post-match press conference, Hughton offered a silver lining, suggesting that subpar performances like the one against the USA can serve as a catalyst for future success.
"I’ve also been involved in the game long enough to know that sometimes you go through what we regard as bad periods to come out better.
“Sometimes the bad performances like today can be something that can kickstart something else or something that makes my mind up about the system we are playing. I understand that disappointment. I can tell you, nobody is more disappointed than I am.”
