Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has shed light on his improving strike partnership with teammate Kwame Opoku following his match-winning performance in the MTN FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.

Amoah was the hero at the TNA Park, scoring the only goal of the game as the Porcupine Warriors edged Berekum Chelsea 1-0 to book a place in the final against Division One side Golden Kick.

The former Great Olympics striker rose highest to head home a pinpoint cross from Baba Yahaya, registering his eighth goal of the season in all competitions.

Speaking after the crucial win, Amoah praised the growing understanding between himself and Kwame Opoku, describing it as a key factor in their attacking play.

“We’ve learned to play to our strengths,” Amoah told reporters. “I always know where Kwame is when we’re moving forward. It wasn’t like that at the beginning — we didn’t really connect. But now, there’s a strong understanding between us.”

He added that both coaches and fans had encouraged them to build better chemistry, which has contributed to their improved performances.

“The coaches and even some fans have talked to us about our link-up play, and it’s helped us a lot. We’ve taken those suggestions on board, and it’s made a difference.”

Kotoko will now shift focus to the Ghana Premier League, where they face Dreams FC in a crucial Matchday 31 encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
