Ghana head coach Otto Addo remains determined to lead the Black Stars to qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), despite a disappointing pair of results against Sudan.

After a 0-0 draw and a 2-0 defeat in their doubleheader, Ghana’s path to qualification is uncertain, but Addo insists the team still has a fighting chance. Speaking to the Ghana FA media team, he emphasized that their campaign is far from over.

"It's not over yet. Mathematically, there's still a chance, and we will do everything in our hands to keep this chance alive," Addo stated.

Reflecting on the team’s overall performance in the qualifiers, the coach stressed the importance of winning home games and maintaining a disciplined approach both defensively and offensively. "When I reflect, it’s not just about this game, but also our general approach. You have to win your home games. The passion and discipline, both defensively and offensively, were there, but we just didn’t execute," he explained.

Addo also expressed his belief that Ghana deserved better results, particularly in their matches against Angola and Sudan. "We surely deserved to win against Angola, and also the last one against Sudan," he said, acknowledging that tactical factors influenced the outcomes.

Ghana’s qualification campaign now faces a critical moment, with the Black Stars currently third in Group F, five points behind second-placed Sudan and seven points behind group leaders Angola. However, Otto Addo and his squad remain focused on turning their fortunes around and keeping their AFCON dream alive.
