Former Germany coach Joachim Löw is on the brink of taking over as head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars on a short-term deal ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with reports indicating he could earn up to €150,000 per month.

The 2014 World Cup-winning manager is said to be close to finalising personal terms following intense negotiations over the past 24 hours, as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) moves to secure a high-profile replacement for Otto Addo.

Löw, who spent 15 years in charge of Germany and led them to World Cup glory in Brazil, brings vast experience and tactical expertise that could provide much-needed stability for the Black Stars at a crucial time.

Ghana have been without a substantive head coach since Addo’s dismissal after a disappointing run of friendly results, leaving the FA under pressure to act quickly with the tournament fast approaching.

With just over two months until Ghana’s opening World Cup match against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, Löw is expected to take on a clear mandate—guide the Black Stars through a tough Group L that includes England, Croatia, and Panama.

If final details are successfully concluded, official confirmation of the appointment is expected in the coming days, in what would represent a major coup for Ghanaian football.
