As the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season heads into its final rounds, the intensity across the league is palpable—with the title race heating up in the top tier of Ghanaian football.

Top of the Table: Title Race Yet To Be Settled, with Pride Still on the Line
With the top two clubs pulling away in the latter part of the season, the race for the championship hasn't been decided. However, with continental competition slots and pride still up for grabs, clubs like Nations FC, Bibiani Gold Stars and Asante Kotoko are fighting to annex the title.

Reigning champions FC Samartex have had an uninspiring campaign, failing to combine last season's defensive resilience coupled with their clinical attack.

Meanwhile, Should Nations and Gold Stars maintain their current form, they could clinch the title with a game to spare—a remarkable feat for club's that has risen steadily through the ranks in recent years.

Mid-table Fray: Holding Ground or Slipping Through the Cracks
The middle of the table remains congested, with teams such as Aduana Stars, Vision FC, and Karela United jostling for positioning. While these sides are safe from the drop, a string of poor results in the final fixture could still drag them into the final-lap bad position.

Relegation Dogfight: Giants Teeter, Underdogs Cling to Hope
At the bottom, the drama has been settled. Accra Lions, Legon Cities, and Nsoatreman have failed to escape the drop zone, and have all misstepped which proved fatal and has gotten them relegated.

Accra Lions, who started the campaign brightly, fell off in recent months, while Cities struggled to find consistency throughout the campaign despite strong home support. For Nsoatreman, they decided to withdraw from the league following the death of a fan which plunged them into having serious issues.

Division One Battles: Promotion Dreams Settled
In Ghana’s Division One League, the promotion picture is already clear. Clubs like Hohoe United, Swedru All Blacks, and Eleven Wonders have all earned promotion to the top flight. Their promotion promises to bring aboard fresh energy and intriguing tales for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

What’s Next?
With just six days to go in the top flight, every point counts. Clubs are battling not just for the trophy, but for future sponsorships, talent retention, and pride in one of Africa’s most storied footballing nations. As always, the final day of the Ghana Premier League promises drama, heartbreak, and moments of brilliance.

One thing is certain: the climax of the 2024/25 season this weekend will leave no fan unmoved.
